About
Trailblazers (formerly known as Radio Trailblazers) is a Canadian volunteer organization that was created in 2005 to advocate the advancement of women in radio. Nearly 20 years later, the mission remains clear: to celebrate and support women in the broadcasting industry through education, inspiration, and mentorship.
With the assistance of sponsors such as Slaight Music, CBC and Bell Media, we take the stage at the Departure/Radio Days North America Conference + Festival where we honour a woman with the Trailblazer Award. Past winners include Marilyn Denis, Shushma Datt, Maie Pauts, Karen Steele and Maureen Holloway for their career success, leadership, mentorship, innovation, and spirit of generosity.
The Trailblazers are also known for presenting an annual panel that addresses the challenges and opportunities Canadian women in media face today.
