Trailblazers, a pioneering organization dedicated to recognizing and supporting women in broadcasting, is proud to announce its evolution to include women in radio, television, and podcasting.

As part of this exciting new chapter, Trailblazers is introducing the Trailblazer Award-an esteemed honor that will be presented annually to a woman in broadcasting who has made a significant impact on the industry. This award recognizes a trailblazer-someone who has not only forged a successful career but has also paved the way for others, demonstrated exceptional leadership, and contributed meaningfully to the industry’s growth and evolution.

The Trailblazer Award will be presented to a deserving woman working in any facet of broadcasting, including:

  • Radio - On-air talent, programming, sales, creative, marketing, management,

    production, promotions, engineering, etc.

  • Television - On-air hosts, journalists, producers, directors, writers, technical staff,

    marketing, management, promotions, engineering, executives, etc.

  • Podcasting - Creators, hosts, producers, and digital media innovators, etc.

The recipient of the Trailblazer Award-formerly known as the Rosalie Award-will be selected based on six key criteria:

1. Career Success – A proven track record of professional excellence.

2. Leadership Qualities – A recognized leader who has influenced and inspired others.

3. Innovation – A visionary who has introduced new ideas, approaches, or strategies.

4. Multi-Platform Success – A professional who has excelled across digital and traditional media.

5. Spirit of Generosity – Someone who gives back to the industry and community.

6. Mentorship – A guiding force for emerging talent in broadcasting.

Nominations for the Trailblazer Award open March 4th and close March 25th, 2025.

The winner will be honoured at the Departure Festival + Conference.
